Repeat Prescriptionsorange_pills

If you are on long term medication your doctor may provide a repeat prescription by arrangement and advise you of the intervals at which this should be renewed.  To request a repeat prescription you can either:

  • Request it during a consultation with the GP/Nurse

  • Leave a request on the 24 hour telephone answering service      (0141 531 8453)

  • Complete a re-order form and place it in the prescription box at reception

  • By sending in a postal request

  • Order via a pharmacy

  • Order online. Ask reception for registration information.

Please note that repeat prescription requests will take 48 hours to process.  Please do NOT phone the practice until after this time has elapsed as we are unable to check if a prescription is ready until then.

Acute prescription requests may take longer to process, such requests are at the discretion of the GP and cannot be generated by reception staff.

Do not allow yourself to run out of your medication, please order in sufficient time for us to process your request and for us to follow patient safety guidelines.  If however you do run out of a particular medication please inform us of this and we will endeavour to process your request more quickly.

Hospital prescription requests made at outpatient clinics are treated no differently and unless your Consultant has intimated that the item is urgent you will have to wait the required 48 hours to allow the item to be processed.
